Here it is, guys! We're embarking on baby #2’s solids journey, and rather than the occasional baby/kids food post on What’s Gaby Cooking, I’m starting something new—somewhere dedicated to feeding babies AND kids, somewhere to share all the intel I've learned along the way.
Four years ago, we seriously considered launching a baby food company, but after diving into the tech behind it (HPP, RETORT, and ASEPTIC PRESERVATION limitations), we realized it just wasn’t as awesome as we’d hoped. So instead, we’re taking all that knowledge and putting it right here—for you, for me, for all the parents out there trying to raise adventurous eaters.


Here’s the Plan:
We’re on week 3ish of feeding Finn, and I’m bringing you along for the ride. Expect:
Delicious recipes for babies, toddlers and big kids that you’ll want to eat too.
Easy breakfast recipes for insanely busy mornings or ones you can prep ahead of time.
Batch cooking strategies, like making a pot of beans or roasting a squash and using it multiple ways.
Leftover ideas to minimize waste and maximize variety.
Expert interviews with child nutritionists, pediatricians, and others you’ll love.
Favorite baby-friendly staples, kitchen tools, and ready-made snacks we swear by.
Every week, I’ll drop a Substack post featuring recipes for Finn (now 6 months), recipes for Poppy (now 4 years), family meals for all of us to enjoy together, and more. Plus, we’ll tackle toddler school lunches to keep meals fun and flavorful at every stage.
I’ll be sharing tips from pediatricians and dietitians, simple purees, larger format foods as we move into solids, my thought process behind combining purees and baby-led weaning (BLW), and all the tools we used to get Poppy + Finn started. Plus, What’s Gaby Cooking-adaptable recipes for babies and toddlers and big kiddos plus so much more!
